| The Theocracy thread was the inspiration for this one.
Let's see what bands the members of CHM like and dislike. How many bands we all like or dislike. What members have very special music styles. Or if there are members that really like uncomman music - bands. Like Thorn Flesh.
Or in other words this is a rarities thread about the music choices of the CHM members.

| I like most melodic type bands with an 80's style because it is what I grew up on. However, I don't care for Theocracy. Just not my thing although I realize they are talented at what they do in that style. | |

| I think Thresher is extremely underrated & is one of my favorite bands. I bought Totally Possessed when I was 15 years old. I wore that tape out. Oh yeah, I love Theocracy. I saw them live at Cornerstone '09, but left early to go see The Crucified. | |

Those were two great shows. I believe that Lia M. fell asleep during The Crucified show

| I am not a fan of progressive metal like Theocracy. They are talented, but I just don't care for them.
Put the name of most extreme metal bands in here and I won't listen to them if they have harsher vocal styles. I can't stand the "Cookie Monster barking like a dog" vocal style or the "Torturing A Pig" variety either. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| As with many here, I too dislike growling, metalcore vocals, screamcore, cookie monster delivery, etc. I went to the Facedown Fest- 8 metal-core bands playing for over half a day, I had a bit of fun as I enjoy concerts, and some of the bands had some excellent sounds and occasional pleasant vocal delivery... but overall, it's not my cup of tea.
On the other hand, I dig symphonic type metal. It's not top on my list, but I do like it. Theocracy is one of my favorite bands. My leanings are more towards Seventh Avenue ! Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them ! Own all (except 2 hard to find) albums by them.
I have always been very eclectic in my musical tastes, from rock to rap, from CCM to punk, from Doo-Wop to Industrial, etc.
However, the top #1 of all time past present and future favorite musical style for me will ALWAYS be Classic Heavy Metal/Rock from, or inspired/influenced by the 70s and 80s masters.

| I can take the 'extreme' vocals in small doses, but a band that screams from start to finish gets on my nerves. When I write/record for Step Cousin, I do some of the cookie monster/growl vocals, but I always incorporate multiple vocal styles, so it won't get boring or too annoying. Some songs have no growl vocals at all. It's all melodic (Lordchain-esk). Sometimes I use the growl in the background to give the main vocal a little more punch. | |

Dislikes - Death metal, most thrash metal, most of the 'core stuff and growling vocals. Ditto! I am also a huge fan of female fronted hard rock and metal.....BUT I don't care for most of the symphonic type metal bands where the band plays what is basically metal and the singer sounds like she would rather be doing opera. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | I guess I'm the most inclusive since I like:
DOOOOOOOOOM Epic DOOOOOOOOOM Funeral DOOOOOOOOOOM Death/DOOOOOOOOOOM Black Death Power Melodic Thrash Progressive Hardcore Deathcore Hard rock Industrial Folk Punk
The one thing that I really don't like is senseless "noodling". I Built The Cross' self-titled album is a prime example of this.
