I never seem to update my avatar in sync with y'all, as I've mostly relegated to lurking on occasion (still miss y'all, though!), so I thought I'd just use an album cover. NOTW is speaking to me a lot these days. So is the song Beyond Belief - I'm meaning to do an acoustic cover of that one.
Much as I'd enjoy participating in the whole avatar thing, I just don't have it very high on my list of things to do. I know, I know, shameful, but what do you want…

So, is it time for Christmas avatars yet or am I just ahead of the game?

Alright! I was tired of mine. This ought to bring out the Christmas cheer in all you Grinches. Wait! I am usually the one saying, "Bah, humbug!" Ok, this may not bring you good tidings of great joy, but fans of Star Wars are going to love this. I actually have this print on a t-shirt. The stockings actually have Luke, Leah, and Han's names on them.

One of my favorite scenes from this classic flim. To this day I will occasionally blurt out "Fudge" and immediately follow it with "only I didn't say fudge".

I love "A Christmas Story"! I even like the sequel they did for it a couple of years ago that went straight to DVD.

No WAY am I ever going to watch that! The REAL sequel is a story called "My Summer Story". Did you know there are about 4 or 5 Ralphie movies that have been made over the years?
Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven Of Bliss (with Jerry O'Connell as a teenage Ralph)
The best one is probably My Summer Story because it uses the same sets and is very close to the original in style. In fact, it was supposed to be shot with the original cast right after "A Christmas Story" but since the first movie "flopped" there was no budget for it. The only returning cast member is Miss Shields (and this movie was made 10 years after the first one so there was really no way to include anyone else from the original).
I have seen parts of Ollie Hopnoodle but the video was very grainy and none of the sets were the same.
Another one (made before A Christmas Story) was "The Great American 4th Of July & Other Disasters" which I believe aired on PBS. It stars Matt Dillon as a teenage Ralph.
Another was "The Star Crossed Romance Of Josephine Cosnowski" where Ralph goes to the prom. Not sure how many more there were but the best ones are "A Christmas Story" and "My Summer Story".
Now back to your regularly scheduled avatar thread.
PS: The reason I haven't given ACS2 a chance is because it isn't written by Jean Shepard (nor is it narrated by him) and they used different sets when they could have easily used the current house because it looks as it did in the movie (and they did use it for My Summer Story).

How about your least favorite movie?
