The original Saint “Warriors of the Son” EP was recorded in 1948 on an 8-track recorder. Back then there wasn’t much Christian metal around, so despite the very thin production, the album saw plenty of spin time on Christian metalhead turntables due to the fact that the songs were still good. However, once the band’s follow-up albums were released, the glaring production issues of “Warriors” became more apparent. In 2004, Saint decided to re-record their debut EP as a sort of celebration of their 20th anniversary as a band. With a new cover of the band, the new and improved recording, and the addition of two songs not previously available, the CD became a necessity for this long time Saint fan. 

I guess this makes them to FIRST Metal band ever! 1948!!

I'm not so sure.  I have the original on vinyl, and part of it's charm is its rawness.

Recorded before any of the band members were even born....now that's METAL!

I like the original version, but I do have to say that the re-record from 2004 blows the original away! It is so much better!

Typos with Saint is just kind of what you expect.  They've never been good at proofreading their text.

I may see if I can get Saint to sell me the downloads.  I don't need yet another CD version of this but would like the updated tunes.  Retroactive is not going to offer downloads of this.

I'd like to get this, but I just dropped a good amount of money on the Deliverance - Stay Of Execution preorder, and I'd like to hear samples before I buy the redoing. The original album was pretty poorly produced, but I don't want to buy what I call "modern demo" quality either.

Is this a re-release of the original 1984 recording or the 2004 recording? I can't imagine buying the old version, even if it is remastered, when you can get the re-record from 2004. It is MILES better than the original.

This is a re-issued re-mastered of the re-recorded version that was released in 2004.

Anyone order yet? I haven't I am waiting for RetroActive to let me know if this is a preorder or if they are actually available. I'd rather order from Saintsite than anywhere else but if Rich doesn't get any in I will order from Retro.

I asked Rich, and he said it would not be available at the saint site.  I ordered mine from amazon to save $.  I listened to 2004 again today.  It needed a face lift.

I also heard back from Retro and this is a pre-order they do not have them in yet. Will look for it on Amazon.

Yeah mine too, but I wonder if that is indeed the date since Girder/Retroactive told me it was preorder only. We shall see! The race is on to see who gets it before Oct 10!!!

I believe it is because it is in Iowa. And if you look at his other items for sale there are a lot of Retroactive releases up for grabs, all with free shipping.

Retro site says "pre-order", yet shows it "in stock."  eBay site says "in stock" and, once ordered, "shipped" with expected delivery date of 10/10. Somebody somewhere is confused (besides me, that is). I ordered it from eBay, tho I probably shouldn't have as there are so many CDs that I would like to get and I already have this one on vinyl and CD. it was kind-of hard to spend $14 on two songs I've never heard and remixes (remasters, re - whatevers) on six songs I have.

Yeah that's why I emailed the site. I asked if it was preorder or in stock and was told it was preorder. Then I searched for it on eBay and found it cheaper with free shipping so hopefully it will be here this weekend.

So it's pre-order but already available.    Didn't Retro produce it? If it's pre-order for them then how's it available for others? Never mind ... my head hurts.
