Barnabas

Excellent "evangelical" band from the early 80´s coming straight from the so called "Jesus Movement". I didn´t listen to all of their stuff, but what I heard from they I really liked. they appeared on the CR scene before the "stryper explosion"

In my opinion, Barnabas is one of the best Christian bands ever, period. They have a progressive edge, great lyrics, and an amazing vocalist. Nancy Jo is one of those female singers who could pass for a guy who's screaming (matter of fact, when I first heard No Freedom, I thought it was a guy). Breathless Wonderment is, to me, a far better worship song than a great majority of what is sung in churches.

Barnabas was one of my first Christian bands. I have all their albums. My problem with them is that my favorite album musically,  Little Foxes, had a bad guitar sound. It didn't stop me from listening.  I still really like Gospel Maniac and Destroy After Use. I would like to see a rerecord of that album.

I scored one of their vinyls recently off ebay, should be arriving any day now.

I'd like to get ALS and FtF if they ever get rereleased.
