Going to see Stryper in a couple weeks...

Subject: Going to see Stryper in a couple weeks... Wed May 21, 2014 2:16 pm

Just under two weeks (June 3rd), and I'll be seeing Stryper in our nation's capital, Ottawa. I'm going with a friend (and his sons) who's a pastor from a local church. He's one of the rare people in my town who are into Christian rock/metal. Should be a good show. Smile

The last time I saw Stryper was To Hell With Devil, 1987 in Seattle.

Seriously though, have fun. I wish they'd come around here, but apparently South Dakota is like the last frontier to them. Not enough people here, so no money it in. The only time significant bands, Christian or otherwise, come here is during the Sturgis Rally (Buffalo Chip Campground, Full Throttle Saloon), and then you have to pay a fortune to see them and deal with a bunch of drunken bikers! No thanks.

Although, to be fair Newsboys and Disciple will be here for Hills Alive and Skillet and Red will be here for Lifelight

I'm kinda bummed that Lifelight and SD State Fair (scroll down to August 31) are on the same dates, as I would like to see Boston. Sad

1989 or 90 for me; don't remember exactly, but I know it was in Denver and I didn't move there until Spring of 89.

LOL, no worries. I had a youth pastor from SD who was involved with LifeLight, if I remember correctly.

Same for me, in Knoxville, TN. Met Tim and Robert that day when they were at the mall. They signed my Reason For The Season EP vinyl and gave me a THWTD Picture Disc.

The one and only time I've seen Stryper was the IGWT tour in New Orleans.

Me neither, but if a Christian band is coming to a town near me (especially since they're coming to Ottawa, which is the nearest "big" city [about a million people]), I sure as heck want to support them. Smile
