New Release Sneak Peaks

I'm working on new music for a new project and wondering what everyone here thinks about sneak peaks of new releases.

I like 'em.

I like them because I've purchased too many duds (think Stryken). Not that present company would ever produce a dud of course!

Ahem! No duds here. 

I want to hear clips if available of any project so I can know if I think it will suck or not.

I like 'em!  Though typically I'll only listen to the new song like once or so just to get an idea of what it's gonna sound like and then wait for the album to arrive.  So I guess I could've chosen the first three options haha.

I went with that option too.  I can't afford to buy every new release that comes out so I enjoy the chance to hear a track or two (or at least a bunch of 30 second samples) before I buy the album.

What I don't want to do is stream the entire album before I buy it.  For some reason that seems like "ruining Christmas" to me.

I also don't want to listen to a band hype their "new release" twice a week for a year before you can even buy it.

I have to admit that I, too voted for the "sucks or not" option.

Not to say I think your music "sucks" but with every band I want to know if it will be something I actually listen to.  I have purchased dozens of albums over the years that I ended up giving away or trying to trade because good or bad, they were just something I didn't listen to.

You're gonna drop some cash on a new pair of jeans - you take them to the fitting room, try 'em on, look in the mirror, squat... Then you buy them.

I didn't take it that way.  I'm just trying to figure out if I should give sneak peaks or not.  I've got 6 songs arranged with most of the recording complete.  I need to find another vocalist as the guy I had slated to do them moved to Florida.

I can't say I have ever squatted in a fitting room! LOL! So let's say the jeans are a bit tight and you do your squatting bit ... and they rip in the back. Back to the shelf or what!?   

It helps to listen to clips, then you know I like it or not really.
