Easy there young feller. Many of the "old farts" you are talking about are only a couple of years older than the "old farts" you are talking to!

I am very excited about this release. I've been waiting a long time now for some new Stryper songs and not cover tunes.

Actually the original wasn't even the Doobies. The Doobies were covering the original version which was written and recorded by Arthur Reid Reynolds. And if I'm not mistaken the Arthur Reid Reynolds Singers were a gospel group.
