This is very sad, hope it's not true.

It really doesn't look good for him as he contacted an undercover sherrif's deputy about doing this. That's practically a conviction waiting to happen right there.

I know. My wife is an avid viewer of shows like Forensic Files, Snapped, The First 48, and many others - and having seen SO many murder for hire stories and actual footage.... he's toast. Dude's an idiot. Why would he even entertain this thought ? I know they're not a "Christian band", but he's been pretty open about his Christianity and his adoptions and stuff - so it's shocking that he'd think that he could get away with something like this. Even if he had a chance to get away with it here, he knows in his heart he's not gonna get away with it before God.
I just don't get it. Seems the rest of the band will end up taking heat too for what this knucklehead did. Sucks.

The best thing the rest of the band can do is remain a supporting set of friends to him while distancing themselves publicly and getting a new singer ASAP. If this were a rap artist, the murder rap could help his career. For all other styles, fans don't really know how to process this and will shy away from them as long as he is connected to the band in an official manner. The band needs a new singer and quick. They also need to issue a statement showing their friendship to him but not condoning his actions.

And that's a very interesting point about rap... never thought about that, but it's so true.

Wow! Even if it wasn't/isn't true it will still be a black eye for Christianity.

I;m not a fan but I have to agree with you guys - what kind of brokenness was this guy facing that this was his best option? What about, oh I don't know, counseling? Prayer? Talking with your pastor? Nah, I'll hire someone to blow her brains out cause, you know "What would Jesus do?"

I know that's harsh, but I just don't understand this kind of thing. Divorce her for Pete's sake (or whoever... hmm...).

well... divorce is a wretched horrific event... so I would never use it in a light manner.. but compared to homicide it might be a better idea... the best idea, though, would be restoration with God and each other.

That's my point Jon. I hate divorce and know too many people who've had to face it. But a prison sentence for homicide isn't really a good alternative... Restoration is ideal of course.
