John Elefante - On My Way to the Sun

Having been a big fan of John Elefante since I first heard "Pass The Flame" in the late 90s, I was quick to donate to his Kickstarter project when I first found out about it last year.

We finally got our advance digital downloads last night, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the new music. The new album is set to release on Tuesday. It's called On My Way to the Sun, has 10 tracks and clocks in at just under an hour.

If you're a fan of anything John has done through the years, I highly recommend checking this out when it's out. Loads of great music here!

It doesn't sound like it rocks quite as hard as Mastedon 3 (Revolution of Mind), but it sounds like it just might be chock full of hooks. I just might have to get it.

Yeah, I've been a fan of John's solo work since Defying Gravity. He just never rushes his material, and I feel like few artists out there have the complete feel for the craft, the songmanship the way he does. It just seems like John always has the bigger picture in sight. I can still listen to his music today and hear slight nuances tucked away in his music that I've never noticed before. Love this guy and his legacy.

I just checked the samples on Amazon and this sounds amazing. I will try to get this next week.

It's out now. Can those that have it give a clue as to the lyrics of
each song? Confess is clearly bold but obviously the mellowest as well. I
like the sound of the first one with the Kansas guys. I'd be willing to
pick up a few of the ones that sound strong if the lyrics are up my
alley as well.
