| Triumphant Return reigns supreme! I would rank them like this: 1. Triumphant Return 2. 1987/Whitecross 3. In The Kingdom (first one I ever heard) 4. Hammer & Nail 5. Unveiled 6. High Gear 7. Equilibrium 8.. Flytrap (could have ranked higher if they had rocked harder and used less acoustic guitars) I won't add any of the greatest hits packages to my list. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| 1987!!!!!I've never heard the original recordings of the self-titled disc but the rerecorded 1987 is fantastic. Since everyone is rating I will too. 1. 1987 2. Hammer & Nail (first Whitecross album I ever heard) 3. Triumphant Return 4. In The Kingdom/High Gear (both albums pretty much equal IMO) 5. Unveiled 6. Equilibrium 7. Flytrap (I agree with alldat, possibly higher if it rocked more) _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Because of this thread....listened to In The Kingdom (side B) tonight. "Love Is Our Weapon", "The Eternal Fire", "You Will Find It There", "If He Goes Before Me", "Tell Me The Time" and "Holy War". And, to "cross-thread" they don't write songs like that anymore , not very often, at least. | |

| Just as a side point, regarding "Holy War" did anyone else find it slightly annoying that they don't sing "Jesus is Lord" as it says in the lyrics? I thought it would have been great like that. I love some of the lyrics off "High Gear" best one (which was in my head for ages).......... Never try to hurt anyone. I try to keep to myself. I'm all business, no time for love. Emotions gather dust on the shelf.
Fast dealin', no time for feelin'. All is well, I'm grabbing my dream. I work hard at building my kingdom. I don't care what tomorrow will bring.
All I've ever dreamed of is right in front of my eyes. Without your love, I have nothing. Without your love, nothing will stand. Without your love, I have nothing. Without your love, I'm such a miserable man.
Living high, up on that hill. Got it all, so I've been told. I've built a kingdom of diamonds and gold. At night, it all turns so cold.
Shade my eyes to all that's around me, Except that star I've needed to reach. To late, my fate now surrounds me, For all I've gained, I couldn't keep.
I wonder why I've waited so long To see if you're what I'm looking for. All the time I've wasted is gone. Will you be there if I open the door? _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... Silence Is Madness

Those were off a greatest hits project at that. I'll have to let you hear the legendary Whitecross--especially the era with Rex Carroll on guitar! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| I love that song (Without Your Love) also Fundy. When I saw them, they were doing a combination of "In The Kingdom" and "High Gear" stuff. I really didn't like "Holy War" live, their drummer did the rapping. And, I think it is just "okay" on the lp. | |

| Never cared much for his vox. Been listening to them since the beginning and believe it or not I like Flytrap best. Then their first release is a close second, In the Kingdom; 3rd. Flytrap and the first release have a different sound to his vox than the rest. First release sounds more like Stephen Pearcy from Ratt; on Flytrap he's a little more grungy in his singing which i like better. The rest of their albums are ok, but I'm not a big fan. | |

| I voted for By Demand since it was there. Its a killer compilation of their best songs from the first five albums. Removing the greatest hits albums, my list would look like this:
1. 1987 (both this and the original s/t are far and away my favorites)
-BIG GAP-
2. High Gear 3. Triumphant Return 4. In The Kingdom 5. Unveiled 6. Hammer and Nail 7. Equilibrium (has 3 briliant songs, but the rest is boring)
-BIG GAP-
8. Flytrap (wretched except for the first song)

| I went with "Triumphant Return"- the best combination of performance, production and songwriting of all the bands efforts (IMHO, of course). | |
