Thanks for the review, Andy. It's great to read such a full review before owning the album. I'm looking forward to hearing it!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the review. Tsar Bomba is a real good album. I plan to have a review of the new Thieves & Liars online later today.

And here is the one for the new Thieves & Liars: http://www.angelicwarlord.com/reviews/t/thieves&liars09.html

I know there have been some strong opinions in regards to this album - on both sides of the fence - but if you disagree with the review then please direct your concern to the official Angelic Warlord complaint department.

Thanks,

Andy

I completely agree with you on the Thieves & Liars album. It is by no means a bad album, but I think it was one of those albums where I set my expectations too high...kind of like I did with the newest Skillet album.

Nah--it's all good! Besides, the quality of the music is all relative anyway, right? I am in the camp that the new Thieves & Liars and Skillet are awesome. Maybe I was just in a place in life right now with my dad being in the hospital so long that I needed these albums more. That happens too as our music becomes our soundtrack of life.

After reading your Bride review, I am even more excited than ever. My expectations for this disc have been exactly what you have described: Bride doing bits and pieces of everything they've done, throwing in some new ideas, and making music that THEY love. What more could I ask for? And, as you speculated, maybe the Thompson Bros. will get bored 3 or 4 years out and decide to do "one more last disc".

Even though we all don't agree with them, we still love your reviews!

I am thinking that even if Bride does not record another album, perhaps Dale and Troy might record with other bands, side projects, etc or simply start a new group completely separate from Bride. I just do not see the two being done from an artistic standpoint- they still have a lot of good music left in them (as is demonstrated on Tsar Bomba).

But I think it is cool seeing Bride focused on being themselves while making good music at the same time.

Glad everyone enjoys the reviews. Next up is Rob Rock's Voice Of Melodic Metal, Live In Atlanta and the new Jacob's Dream.

Nice to read the review of "Tsar Bomba.

It's sad to know this is the last CD of Bride.
No matter what, Bride was one of my favorite band.
Bride released many very good CD.
I'm looking forward to listen how this last CD will sound.
I hope Troy and Dale won't hang their guitars on a tree there in Kentucky, but play maybe in other bands.
Or think about some year "it's nice" to start writing for an other Bride CD.

I would continue buying their albums if Troy and Dale carried on producing stuff similar to the Bride albums. Maybe it is time to knock Bride on the head and start a new band that means they can go for what style they like.

I found this part of Andy's review very interesting....

Quote :
all out metal of “Separate” and “Nothing Means Anything To Me”

Which means that the 2 songs that we have heard on the myspace sites are the two heaviest. I'm a big fan of the metal bride, but I also like their other bluesy, hard rock stuff. I'm glad that they've done an 'across the boards' style. Tsar Bomba is sounding like it's gonna be an interesting album.
