Rocksalt podcasting?

I'd like an idea of the interest in podcasts of my show, whether you'd bother downloading it on a regular basis and what is the max file size you think is reasonable (the show is normally 2 hours long).

Keep in mind it would take me 4-5 times as long to upload it as it would you to download it (on 1.5 Mbit DSL at least). Plus I have to take 2 laptops with me so it wouldn't be exactly convenient to do.

I'm not sure if I'd try to find a free podcasting service or just upload via something like yousendit.com and post the link which is good for 7 days.

Uh, an Ipod has nothing to do with Podcasting - it's simply one of the tools that can play mp3s. I don't own an Ipod either. You can play a podcast (mp3 download) on anything that would play mp3s. I also used the term podcasting loosely as the yousendit (or similar) option would not be a podcast because you couldn't subscribe to it. That is all podcasting buys you - it downloads the stuff automatically to your PC or player when something new appears.

Does that mean you can download an Ipod via YouSendIt and listen to your show?
I like the idea.

Basically Topshot wants to know if you guys would download his show, even if it was a large file.

(and he's hoping you'll say no, cuz it's a lot of work)

I would download it (never have before), but that would be a cool way to hear the show, since for some reason I could never link up to station through the site.

You could download an mp3 via yousendit and listen to my show. An Ipod is a piece of hardware and thus cannot be downloaded with current technology. ;)

AF nailed it on both counts.

I probably wouldn't download it for later. There are a couple of online stations that I listen to from time to time that have 24 hour streaming audio. That is plenty for me when I'm web surfing.
