Hey Addy, I like your website. Got lots of cool stuff on there, and was interested to see that you've listed Oasis as a band that you like (even if it's only one album). I always thought that Oasis were a 'british only' band and the rest of the world couldn't care less for them. Back in the 90's they and Blur were the biggest selling bands around in the UK.

Dude, Oasis were HUGE here in the U.S. (sometime back in the 90's) (Blur did pretty good too). They sold out concerts all over the U.S. Although sometimes I think the Gallager brothers (sp?) were more famous for their fighting than their music. If I remember correctly some of their music (Wonderwall etc.) charted really high here too.

I had the same issue with Pearl Jam. I never thought they had any popularity (with their first two albums) outside of the greater Seattle area in western Washington State. Then I found out a few years later that they were multi-platinum selling musicians selling out concert halls all over the country and even some in Europe.

It's funny how our location shapes our perception or understanding.

I remember when Oasis was big. They were supposed to be utterly HUGE, but never quite made that next level. Good band, though.

They're still going strong today. Back in the late 90's when they released their 3rd album they stated that they would stop playing that kind of music, rest for a while and then start again with a differetn style.

That never happened!

They still play very similar stuff to their old stuff, and I think they're on their 6th or 7th album.

Personally I've never liked them. Didn't they fly to america to do a tour, Liam then got the hump and flew home. It was something daft (and childish) like that anyway.

Although this probably doesn't mean anything, as they're always having arguments and throwing their toys out of the pram.... I still found it quite interesting that after posting about Oasis I see on the front page of a couple of UK websites the following news...........

Noel Gallagher has voiced his concerns for Oasis as the group continue to clash on their world tour.

As previously reported by Orange, Noel labelled younger brother Liam "rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy" in an interview last month, before the frontman retaliated by mocking his sibling's love of guitar solos and friendship with Russell Brand.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the tensions have impacted on the Mancunian quintet's relations, as Noel revealed on their blog yesterday (4 May): "We speak at bad times for the Oasis tour. Bad times.

"We are a rudderless ship at the minute. And there's a f***in' s***-storm on the horizon. I guess all will be revealed in due course. Strange atmosphere."

He continued: "I wouldn't mind but we're in South America! Playing massive stadiums and there's a bit too much hrmph-ing going on for my liking. Shame really."

If they're going to go, click below to remember them as they were in these quality pictures.
