Rocksalt on vacation

Yvonne noted I didn't post a list Sunday. Even though I could have turned on the transmitter this time (yes, yet another storm hit), I took the night off to just chill out. In fact, I think I'll be taking off most if not all of my shows until school starts (first Sunday in Sept).

Sometimes breaks are good to get new inspiration Michael.
Looking forward to the first show in September.
Maybe you can do something special at your first show like requests by your listeners?
Or play songs of the debute albums of bands?
It's only an idea.

A break should do you some good. Now, why not just listen to some of those tunes for the sake of enjoying them--not just show prep!

Because I don't have the time for that. Sure I could listen as background music, but it wouldn't do me any good as far as the show goes.

I doubt any of us just sit and listen to music, bro. We're all doing something else. Up until about two months ago, most of my music listening was at work. You could play a lot of music during a 12 hour shift!

Now most of my musical listening is while I'm on the computer or driving somewhere in my truck. I think of it as the "Soundtrack of Alldat's Life......or Lack Thereof".

That's me exactly, I usually listen to about 4-6 hours of music each day at work, but I can't really concentrate on it (I gotta keep those buidlings from falling down).
The only chance I really get to pay serious attention to music is during my commute (about 45 minutes each way). That's why I have the new Mission of One disc in the cd player in my car.

When I really will concentrate on music I take the car and listen.
This works very good for me.

That would be about the only time I could listen well, but I'm rarely in the car for much time.

There are certainly perks to not having a real job - especially with gas near $4/gallon. However, we're just catching up to the rest of the world for a change.

Boy, are you behind the times. I'm doing software development.

Translated to English that means he plays on his computer all day and calls it working.

So what happened to getting the teaching gig? Was it too much work?

It may have been. Katrina happened and my life changed because of it. I quit school to do relief work and then came about doing my old job again but without the bondage (or security depending upon how you look at it) of an employer.

Any chance now of going back to school, or have you dropped the idea of teaching?

I remeber that you quit the "school" because Katrina hit some southern states.

I dropped teaching indefinitely. Figured God was telling me that wasn't the direction to go.
