| Mine tends to vary a bit. Sometimes I will listen to some old Carman or Amy Grant. Then again I might be in the mood for some flat out Hard Rock/Metal. I will occasionally pull out P.I.D., Brainchild,or Michael Drive sometimes. | |

| Actually it's interesting when i think about that because all of my Christian albums are modern style music and none were made before 1998, yet the secular stuff I have is all over the map, anything from 1940s Charlie Parker jazz to Aerosmith to something light and poppy. | |

| Mine don't vary as much as some, but probably more than your average metal-head. Most of my music is 80's style metal and hardrock, with quite a bit of modern metal (not nu-metal) thrown in. I do have some modern rock/metal, and some CCM as well. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Mine varies quite a bit. I've got quite a bit of CCM stuff like Newsboys, Casting Crowns, MercyMe, etc. I've got a lot of classic hard rock and metal. I've got quite a bit of blues. I probably buy more modern rock these days, but it's hard to find bands like Letter 7 at the Christian bookstores. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| You have RAP CDs? RAP? I am banning you from the board right now! See you in about 12 seconds when the ban is lifted! I really don't mind what people listen to when it comes to genres. It takes all the little differences in tastes to make people really interesting.

| Late 80's, early 90's = My appreciation for rap started with DC Talks 1st release... I just appreciated the heart of these kids, then I got a D-Boy album cuz I heard of his tragic death. I fell in love with this guys heart and talent. I got a little more into rap when Bride teamed up and did the rap version of "God gave R&R to you", course I had to get PIDs stuff, then I discovered SFC and Dynamic Twins. From there, I think this old rocker began to truly appreciate the genre (Christian, NOT secular rap). Then rapcore hit the scene with TFK and POD... what can I say, I like Christian rap. But I also like Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong.... Depends on my schizo personality for the day. | |

| This is a section of a MediaMonkey report, showing details of the genre part of my mp3 library. This will give you a good idea of the styles of music I have and listen to. Some of them don't really get listened to (country, lullaby) but are still ripped to my library anyway, in many cases for my wife. [My CD collection is not ripped in its entirety, so the numbers represented by the mp3 library are not 100% accurate, but the genres are, and it gives an idea of the general percentage of music I have for each genre, even if it's not exact.] Top Genres by Length Total Play Time / Genre / Number of Tracks / Total Size of Files |

I love to have variety, although my preferences are metal, industrial, rock and movie scores (I'm listening to Trevor Rabin's score to the movie The One as I type this).

| The great majority (90+%) is CHM of some kind. I have some CCM/P&W and a few classical, new age, instrumental, etc. but never listen to them. I barely listen to the CHM as it is. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

I love soundtracks, specifically movie scores. I only have about 500 on CD though, so when you see such a volume in hours, bear in mind that a great portion of that is downloaded (with at least that much still "unprocessed" but downloaded, meaning I need to go through it and clean up the tags before adding it to my library). The thing about soundtracks is that they are released at the time of the movies, but they go out of print usually within a few months. So the only way to get them is by downloading them or finding them used somewhere. Or in some cases, they don't even officially exist, so you can only get them in bootleg format, either by the artists themselves who leak them unofficially, or by fans who release "fan club versions," or by people who take vinyl and convert them with incredible skill. Sometimes soundtracks never existed at all in any format, and somehow people get the cues anyway. This may be in the form of promos that movie studios submit to the Academy for consideration at the time of the Oscars, or for other reasons. I can't tell you how excited I was to see someone post the soundtrack by Thomas Newman to Gung Ho and The Man With One Red Shoe. Neither movie had a soundtrack released at all, but somehow the bootleg made it out there. And I love the soundtrack to The Man With One Red Shoe. So after all these years, I finally have it. Anyway, there is a huge fan base out there that collects soundtracks, and getting ahold of the rarities is pretty exciting. Finding them on CD is exciting, too. Some of them are worth $10, $50, $100, and when you find one of those for a couple bucks at a pawn shop there's a thrill that goes along with it. - Fundy wrote:

Fundy Actually, it does not. Because that line is just some secular rap, probably the old DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince from my high school days. The D.O.C. and S.F.C. and P.I.D. and D-Boy and all of those are under Christian Rap/Hip-Hop, which is 45 hours worth at the moment. Also, I have the import single of Bride - God Gave Rock N Roll To You, which is a 3-song single featuring that and a couple songs off of Snakes In The Playground, so when I want to listen to that song that's the disc that gets played.
