Brooke Barrettsmith

What would it sound like if Krystal Myers were to sing for the band Skillet? New artist Brooke Barrettsmith brings the melding of these two sounds together on her debut CD due out Aug. 19 on Essential Records (home of Third Day).

A fair description - maybe 60-70% Krystal Meyers, but better than her sophomore effort at least. Fairly decent stuff from the quick listen I gave it.

This must be good ... very good because I like it too.
I am not a fan of female vocals.

I saw Brooke at Ichthus a few weeks ago. She has a pretty good live show too.

I got her CD and like it quite a bit. She does remind me more of Krystal Myers than the Skillet comparisons on her artist bios at JesusFreakHideout, though. This is more akin to Myers' past work or Barlow Girl. Decent stuff--nothing earthshaking.

Hmm, I musta missed this thread the first time around.
I'm listening to the first track on her myspace player right now, and I gotta say I really dig it (not quite as cutesy as Barlow Girl).

Dang, another disc to add to the wants list.

Not nearly as long as women, and I'm at least a year older (and probably 20 cheeseburgers heavier) than you.......so I guess I will have to find my own copy.
