Since October releases today!

Anyone else planning on picking this up? Anyone need to know who they are?

Hmmm yes, it's me again who is listening for the first time to Since October.
I have to tell it sounds cool.
Sometimes I hear some short " cookie monster sounds".
I have to be a bit selective what I order now.
I created a "can't wait" list and a " can wait list.
Since October is on the "can wait list".

I'm going to my local Christian bookstore today and picking this up. Personally, I think it's gonna be pretty cool.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh that's my dream to go to my local bookstore and order all new CDs I would like to have.
Sometimes it's not easy to be oversea and to get the CDs you want to have.

I have the same thought that Since October is pretty cool.

I don't order most of my CDs from a local bookstore. I order a great deal from online vendors. I would be hard pressed to find stuff like Saint, Seventh Power, Fires Of Babylon, etc. in a Christian bookstore around here. I best most of the people working there would have never heard of these. With Since October being on Tooth & Nail though, it will be easy to find them locally.

This sounds pretty good. I haven't picked up a modern rock release in a little while now. Might have to get this one.

Sadly, most of my purchases have been in this realm this year. Stuff like:

Pillar
Eowyn
Fireflight
Stellar Kart
The Afters
Seventh Seal

But, there have also been some good metal discs bought this year:

Fires Of Babylon
Seventh Power
Saint
Seventh Star

Most of my CDs I order on online vendors.
Most people here have never heard of the band I like so much.
I've only bought one Cd in the local bookstore whe have.
That was Casting Crowns.
I ordered Barlow Girl but that CD they had to order too.

I was kinda wondering there.

Beings how I am one of those who love modern rock/corporate rock, I will be picking this cd up this weekend. With most of my favorite christian metal bands not releasing anything in years I have gone down the modern rock road. With a touch of worship/rock,i.e. Re:zound thrown in there.

I hear ya! I would buy a lot more classic hard rock/metal if it were available. I don't really like a lot of progressive metal, and I can't stand extreme metal. If you want new music, you kind of have to look around to see what is available. Luckily, I found other stuff I like!

Listened for 5 seconds to Seventh Star and hit then the button off.
Wow is this first class "heavy cookie monster "music.

I am still looking forward to the new X-Sinner, the new Harmony, and This Beautiful Republic.
I think the new Letter 7 album is a killer too.

The new Since October is cool if you're into bands like Disciple, Decyfer Down, or the newest Pillar disc. I can hear some similarities to all three of these bands.

I picked up "This Is My Heart" today. Definitely reminds me of Red and Decyfer Down. I liked both of their albums so that's not a bad thing.

I took a listen to This is my Heart, and I just wish they had more new songs than that. It's basically just their debut album, minus 2 songs, with a couple new ones (one of which being an intro). They kinda remind me of an early Kids in the Way. Cus when KITW came out with Phoenix with a Heartache, the lead singer's voice cracked a lot similarly to Since October. Don't get me wrong though, I love both bands.

I hadn't heard their debut CD, so the new Since October rocks!

It's really in my planning to order Since October later.
Now I wonder is Since October modern rock music too?

I think you would like them more than you know. Yes, there were a couple of moments of some "cookie monster" vocals, but they were few and far between. Even then, they were more for emphasis and used as background vocals.

Yep, yep you are right. I really like Since October.
I listened a couple of time to the songs and I can ignore the "cookie monster" vocals.
So I don't hear them anymore

A song full of "cookie monster" vocals I can't handle, but the way Since October did it I can.

I just got my copy and must say I am impressed. While it really isn't that far off of the whole Pillar/Disciple modern rock sound, it just rocks. The ballads are good and the rockers rock. Very good album indeed

I know this is an old topic, but I just recently discovered this group and love the music. The best part is, they have another new CD coming out in just over a month
