John Elephante news......... (how true is this?)

John is currently writing material for several new albums. The first release will be The Best of John Elefante, comprised of favorites from Mastedon and his solo albums. There will be three new songs, and a bonus track, as well.
John’s next album is being kept under wraps until its release, more than a year off. Musically, it is a return to his roots, but also explores new genres for him. In a departure from his radio-friendly mainstay, this album focuses on a more personal, artistic aesthetic.

Since I am a Mastedon fan is this good news.
I've never listened to John's solo albums, but I love both Mastedon albums.

I owned two of John's solo albums, could not get into them at all.
I would be interested in new stuff from him if it is in the melodic metal/AOR vein (such as Mastedon), but not at all if it is like his solo stuff.

A few years back (Don't know how long ago exactly) I know there was a rumored 3rd Mastedon album in the works. Wonder if some of the new songs are from that non-release. Would love to hear a new Mastedon album. With the success Justin has had with LnJ, I think with the right musicians & vocalist another Mastedon album would succeed
